Senior Flute Recital: Heather Bell

Heather M. Bell will present a senior flute recital at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 22, in the Concert Hall in the Carter Center for Worship and Music at Bridgewater College.

Heather M. Bell will present a senior flute recital at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 22, in the Concert Hall in the Carter Center for Worship and Music at Bridgewater College.

For her flute recital, Bell will perform Haru No Umi by Michio Miyagi, Garak by Isang Yun and four movements, “Allemande,” “Corrente,” “Sarabande” and “Bourée Anglaise,” from Partita in A Minor by Johann Sebastian Bach.

Bell will also perform a duet, Hyrule Fantasia by Koji Kondo, arranged by Laura Intravia, with Dr. Vimari Colón-León, assistant professor of music at Bridgewater College, on piccolo.

A special feature of the recital is Sonata in D Major for Flute Choir by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, arranged by Bell. Bridgewater College’s Flute Choir will join Bell for this piece.

Bell, a computer science major with a minor in music, is the daughter of Larry and Kathy Bell of Marshville, N.C.

Bell studies flute under Colón-León. She will be accompanied by Lacey Johnson, instructor of music at Bridgewater College.

The recital is free and open to the public.
