Bridgewater College music faculty will present a recital in the Concert Hall in the Carter Center for Worship and Music at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 23. The recital is free and open to the public.
Prof. Richard Adams will perform From the Shores of the Mighty Pacific on euphonium and Suite Del Recuerdo on guitar.
Prof. Lacey Johnson will perform “Danza del Viejo boyero” and “Danza del la moza donosa” from Danzas Argentinas by Alberto E. Ginastera on piano.
Prof. Curtis Nolley, a tenor, will perform La Partida by Fermin Maria Alvarez, Mattinata by Ruggero Leoncavallo and “A Simple Song” from Mass by Leonard Bernstein.
Dr. Christine Carrillo will perform Postcards by Anthony Plog on the trumpet.
Dr. Melissa Sumner Swisher, a dramatic soprano, will perform “Du bist der Lenz” from Die Walküre by Richard Wagner and “Le collier” from Poèmes pour Mi by Olivier Messiaen.
Prof. Anthony Cincotta will perform “La follia nueva: A lament for George Cacioppo” from Sonata by William Albright on alto saxophone.
Dr. Vimari ColĂłn-LeĂłn will perform Tango Etude No. 6 by Astor Piazzola on flute.
Dr. Ryan Hoffman will perform two movements, “Adagio” and “Allegro vivace” from Sonata No. 4 in C Major by Ludwig van Beethoven on cello.
Johnson and Dr. Tonya Holland will serve as piano accompanists.
