Mallory Dove and Morgan Carr Senior Recital

Mallory Dove will present a clarinet recital and Morgan Carr will present an honor’s project trumpet recital at 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, in the Carter Center for Worship and Music.

Mallory E. Dove and Morgan F. Carr will present a recital at 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, in the Concert Hall in the Carter Center for Worship and Music at Bridgewater College.

For her clarinet recital, Dove will perform “Allegretto,” “Allegro Animato,” “Lento” and “Molto Allegro” from Clarinet Sonata for E-flat Major, Op. 167 by Camille Saint-Saëns. She will also perform “Prelude,” “Romance,” “Carol” and “Forlana” from Five Bagatelles, Op. 23 by Gerald Finzi.

Dove studies clarinet under David Snively, adjunct in music at Bridgewater College.

Dove, a music major, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ricky Dove of Linville, Va. She is a member of the Symphonic Band, the Handbell Choir and a clarinet choir.

For her honor’s project trumpet recital, Carr will perform “Fanfare,” “Intermezzo,” “Canto” and “Tarantella” from Four Miniatures by Joseph Turrin and “Portrait of a Trumpet” by Sammy Nestico.

A special feature of the recital is Dove and Carr performing a clarinet and trumpet duet of “Largo” and “Allegro” from Double Concerto for Clarinet and Trumpet by Gordon Jacob.

Carr studies trumpet under Dr. Christine Carrillo, associate professor of music at Bridgewater College.

Dr. Larry Taylor, associate professor of music at the college, will accompany both musicians on the piano.

Carr, a biochemistry major and a member of the College’s Flory Honors Program, is the daughter of Philip and Wanda Carr of Linville, Va. She is a member of the Symphonic Band and the Jazz Ensemble.

The recital is free and open to the public.
