In 2007, the Bridgewater College Alumni Association founded the Alumni Scholarship, which is given annually at the College Awards Ceremony, held near the conclusion of the spring semester. The scholarship provides awards to students meeting the award criteria with a preference for a student whose parent or parents attended Bridgewater College.
The Alumni Legacy Scholarship recognizes the loyalty of BC alumni who encourage their children to attend Bridgewater. The College has a strong tradition of multi-generational alumni, and this scholarship honors that legacy.
Beyond that, it provides a sense of connection from current Bridgewater students to the previous generations of Bridgewater alumni and promotes the Alumni Association to students who will soon join its ranks.
To qualify, the student must attain a minimum GPA to be determined each year by the Student Awards Committee, exhibit good citizenship, have financial need and be in good standing with the College. The committee awards scholarships dependent on the funds available each year.
